Hello Friends and Family,
Nick and I are having a great time in Ithaca!
We absolutely love our apartment, the area, and the city. I had no idea how much I could love a city so small. It's so beautiful with the trees, fields, lakes, waterfalls, downtown and college area. It's just awesome!
Nick started school Wednesday and likes all of his 3 classes. He's taking 1 government class and 2 history courses, so a pretty light schedule.
I briefly had a job at a restaurant, Ciao!, however, I decided it really didn't fit me and I no longer wanted to be a server. So I quit before training was over so I didn't waste their time or resources. I took the job initially because it was the first place I applied and the manager offered me a job on the spot. I was so shocked and flattered I had to accept! But when moving here I knew I wanted a business related job or something new. So after learning the ENTIRE menu in a week and starting training, it just wasn't what I wanted to do. It was a great Italian place with excellent food; Nick loved it there. But I was just ready for the next chapter in my life, and it wasn't in a restaurant serving people. So I've applied many other places. I talked with a lady in a Physical Therapy office and she loved my resume, cover letter and me. But had a concern with my short time here. I told her I could only promise to stay at least a year for the time being. (Nick agreed we could stay, sorry if that shocks some of you, it shocked me the most that I wanted to stay!) However, as much as she wanted me to be her aide, she couldn't risk all the training if my future plans were uncertain. (So as of now, we are not staying longer) Not getting that job bummed me out but also gave me confidence in my skills and appeal. So now I have 3 interviews tomorrow at a hotel, office, and a candle store (I need money so it's my backup, I can't be picky now). So I'll let ya know how that goes. *fingers crossed*
Anyways, here is a quick tour of our apartment. I say quick because I filmed it 5 different times because it was too long, so now it's super short and sweet. Enjoy!
Love and Miss You All
XOXO, Dani
